Looking back at the end of the year and pensive about all the good times we had in the cinema evokes different kinds of memories for discrete people. There’s the first half of the year, full of light summer entertainment and the infrequent heavy independent film and then the second half, with moviemakers angling for Joyful Globes, Oscars and high returns at the box office.

Comparing the two halves of the year is an unattractive task, so the only fair thing to do is count down the best of the year in part company lists. Let’s start with the top selections released between January and June.

And, since we’re saying adieu to 2011, let’s make it a Top 11 list instead of the usual 10.

11. “Hanna” — Adolescent Hanna Heller (Saoirse Ronan) has spent her entire mortal preparing for the moment when she leaves her father (Eric Bana) and his intensified assassin training regimen, fully prepared to complete a aim of utmost importance. Gleefully amoral and almost sinfully comic, Punt-Ass is a brilliant and au fait-alecky takedown of the superhero era that never moderately comes up with the ideas to equivalent its pretentiousness. It zips along with such dynamism and arrogance that practically any audience will be captivated, but a lax instant act reveals a few seams below the ultra-smooth-shaven con, and at the end it's insensitive not to be frustrated that the flick picture show so approximately reaches sublimity.

Still, the listing of things to profit from is tremendous, starting with the terrific breakout about by Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski, the most general of so so outer-borough New Yorkers you can conceptualize.
