Miami Herald standard author Steve Rothaus covers gay and lesbian issues in South Florida. Steve joined The Herald in 1985, while a journalism important at Florida Universal University.
He came out at trade in 1987 and served five years as a house colleague of the Country-wide Lesbian & Gay Journalists Affiliation (NLGJA). He founded the coalition's Newsroom Outreach Invent and traveled the rural area visiting newspapers, TV stations and college campuses to about gay talk coverage and workplace issues.
Steve won the 1998 GLAAD Media Give for memorable newspaper columnist. In 2010, the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Judicature of Merchandising named him
Area Individual of the Year.
